About the role 

Administration Officers are responsible for the delivery of consumer-focused administrative support that ensures equity of access throughout the patients Journey within Surgical Specialist clinics

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Provide safe and effective perioperative support, including patient positioning, transfers, and maintaining a safe operating theatre environment.
  • Ensure theatre readiness and equipment functionality, including preparation, cleaning, and prompt reporting of faults or repairs.
  • Adhere to OH&S, infection control, and risk management procedures, including timely reporting of incidents via Riskman and compliance with policies and mandatory training.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, supporting efficient workflow, communication, and maintaining professional and respectful practice standards.

 

What we’re looking for 

  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with consumers, families, and multidisciplinary health care teams.
  • Strong customer service focus, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a positive attitude in all interactions.
  • Computer literacy and adaptability to health technologies, with confidence using clinical systems and informatics tools.
  • Flexibility and teamwork, including willingness to undertake varied clerical duties, work rostered shifts, and contribute to a collaborative learning environment.
