About the role
The Administration Officer (Paediatric Outpatients) is responsible for the delivery of consumer-focused administrative support; ensuring equity of access throughout the patient’s journey at Barwon Health and to assist the multidisciplinary team by providing efficient and effective clerical support so as to achieve desired outcomes.
You will provide day to day operations of the reception area for paediatric outpatients. Welcoming families to the paediatric outpatient service, along with general Barwon healthy enquiries. You will be responsible for data entry and customer service both face to face and over the telephone.
Key responsibilities
- Provide prompt, equitable and accurate customer service in a professional courteous and helpful manner. Ensuring customer focused standards are continuously maintained. Ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times consistent with Barwon health policies and values.
- Utilisation on Barwon Health’s IT systems with accurate patients related documentation. Provide accurate data entry and compliance with reporting standards. Ensuring the completion of mandatory competencies and Performance reviews.
- Establish and maintain effective communication within a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide accurate data entry in compliance with reporting standards
- Comply with relevant Barwon Health’s policies and procedures. Practice in accordance with relevant health care or industry standards. Undertake special projects or reports required by the manager. Exhibits commitments to Barwon Health’s values including commitment to age-appropriate communications and behaviours
What we’re looking for
- Experience in challenging and busy consumer focused environment
- Experience in customer service
- Computer literacy and the ability to learn specialist programs used within paediatric outpatient department
- Experience In a team focused environment
- Ability to work rostered shifts that include day, evening and across different Barwon Health locations
