About the role 
The Administration Officer - Maternity Services, provides frontline reception and administrative support to women, families and visitors accessing maternity services. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient patient registration, accurate documentation and high-quality customer service, while working collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to support safe and positive care experiences.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consumer-centred, courteous reception and customer service, ensuring confidentiality, accurate patient registration, and a welcoming experience for women, families, and visitors.

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining clear and professional communication to support effective patient flow and positive consumer outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate data entry, documentation, and audits while complying with Barwon Health policies, privacy, information management legislation, and mandatory training requirements.

  • Use clinical and administrative systems (iPM, BOSSnet, Birthing Outcomes System) appropriately, identifying and reporting data issues to support safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with advanced computer literacy including MS Office; ability to learn specialist systems
  • Experience using iPM
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a busy, consumer-focused environment
  • Flexibility to work rostered shifts
