About the role 

MHDAS (Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Services) delivers comprehensive, recovery-oriented mental health care across inpatient, community, and specialist programs, supporting consumers, families, and carers through all stages of their mental health journey. The service is committed to safe, high-quality care aligned with Victorian mental health reform priorities.

The MHDAS Education Team underpins this by designing and coordinating training, student placements, and workforce development initiatives that build capability, support safe practice, and strengthen the future workforce pipeline.

Working within this team, the role plays a critical coordination and support function, ensuring the seamless delivery of education activities and contributing to a well-trained, sustainable mental health workforce.

 

Key Responsibilities

The successful incumbent will assist in the following duties:

  • To provide high level functioning in secretarial and executive assistance skills in order to support and facilitate the effective functioning of the MHDAS Education Team
  • To provide a secretariat for Committees chaired by the Education Team and general administrative support to the MHDAS Education Team.
  • To provide a link between educators, universities, community groups and corporate partners.
  • Incorporates an office management aspect, which ensures smooth transition of day-to-day tasks through the MHDAS Education office and facilitates harmonious relationships.
  • Manage the rostering of all nursing students.
  • Manage yearly planners of all training and teaching, flyers and distribution of marketing of education programs.
  • Oversee the co-ordination and all administrative functions associated with MHFA & ASIST.

 

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive professional with strong executive support and office management capabilities, who can coordinate complex schedules, manage competing priorities, and maintain seamless administrative operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support a dynamic mental health education environment with professionalism and efficiency.
