About the role
The Senior Registrar Obstetrics position is focused on antenatal care (ANC), high-risk pregnancy management, specialty obstetric clinics, obstetric scanning, and birth suite. Limited gynaecology operating is available but is not the primary focus of the role. You will also be expected to participate in nights and weekend shifts, as well as after-hours, on-call and recall requirements.
This is a leadership role incorporating education, coordination of unit meetings, audit activity, and quality and safety reviews, supporting continuous improvement across the service.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality evidence-based obstetric care across antenatal clinics, birth suite and specialty services
- Participate in after-hours, on-call and recall rosters as required
- Contribute to education, training and supervision of junior medical staff
- Lead and participate in audit, quality improvement and multidisciplinary meetings
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated experience in obstetrics and gynaecology at a senior registrar level
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care and multidisciplinary teamwork
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Year 5+ in RANZCOG training program, or SIMG preparing or already assessed for RANZCOG comparability
