About the role
Women's Services at University Hospital Geelong is committed to providing best-quality, evidence-based care. This expanding service delivers excellent clinical training within a multidisciplinary team environment, working closely with skilled midwifery, nursing and allied health colleagues. The role has a predominantly obstetric and emergency gynaecology focus, including antenatal clinics, birth suite work, high-risk pregnancy care, and emergency gynaecology.
Key responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective supervised clinical management of obstetric and gynaecology patients
- Manage normal and abnormal pregnancy, labour, puerperium and obstetric emergencies
- Perform and assist with obstetric procedures including instrumental delivery and caesarean section
- Participate in after-hours, night and weekend rostering, audits, education and quality improvement activities
What we’re looking for
This position requires at least 12 months experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Senior RMO level or above, eligibility for registration as a Medical Practitioner in Victoria, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Baseline comfort with operative obstetrics is highly desirable. The role offers sufficient clinical exposure to support completion of the RANZCOG Associate Training Program (Advanced Procedural – APTP).
