About the facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
Department of Vascular Surgery
The Vascular Surgery Unit at Barwon Health treats patients with a wide variety of Vascular conditions. Both Open Surgical and Endovascular treatments are performed. Conditions treated include: Aortic Surgery, Carotid Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Venous Disease, Renal Access, Diabetic Foot Disease. There are four Consultant Surgeons, four Registrars and three Interns on the team. The Vascular Unit has regular operating sessions in a Hybrid operating suite as well as a conventional Operating Theatre. It is a collegiate unit, conducive to learning and collaboration.
About the Role: Vascular Surgery Unaccredited Registrar
The 12-month Unaccredited Vascular Registrar position is aimed at Registrars who are pursuing a career in Vascular Surgery. Applicants should have an interest in applying for the Surgical Education and Training (SET) program of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. This Registrar position will provide a broad range of experience in managing complex Vascular conditions. There is regular Open and Endovascular Surgery exposure. The successful applicants will regularly participate in the roster for after-hours, on-call and recall by the unit. In 2026 we have 3 positions available.
