About the facility

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

 

The Rehabilitation department at Barwon Health is a dynamic and comprehensive service, delivering sub-specialty programs within inpatient, outpatient and home based settings.  This includes neurorehabilitation, orthopaedic rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputee and reconditioning rehabilitation. Registrars also have the opportunity to be involved in outpatient clinics with excellent consultant support and teaching, including ABI, Spinal, Neurorehab, Cardiac Rehab, Amputee and Spasticity clinics.

The department has established a reputation for providing outstanding support to Registrars at any stage of training with formalised teaching, exam preparation and day to day clinical support.

 

About the role

Applications are invited for our Rehabilitation Registrar positions. Our friendly and supportive department currently employs 10 Rehabilitation Physicians. There are 3 x 6 month Registrar positions available:

·         Neurorehabilitation - stroke and other neurorehab, ABI, spinal cord injury

·         Musculoskeletal/General – orthorehab, amputee and reconditioning rehabilitation

·         Rehab@Home & clinics

 

Applicants seeking either 6 or 12 month positions will be considered.

Participation in the roster for after-hours, on-call and recall as required by your unit.
