About the facility  

Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac. 

  

About the role 

 

Are you looking to join a Graduate Nurse Program in 2026? 

 

Additional graduate nurse and/or midwife positions have become available at our health service, commencing this financial year (2025/26) 

 

These positions are open to graduates who are eligible for the PMCV 2025 graduate match and have thus far been unsuccessful in matching with a health service 

 

Graduate nurses and or midwives who have already been allocated a position with a health service are ineligible to apply.  Health services may request a statutory declaration from applicants confirming they have not been allocated a position. 

 

Recruitment decisions will be merit based, however, priority consideration will be given to applicants 

 

  • who are Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents 
  • who have completed an approved nursing or midwifery program offered by a provider in Victoria or border community 
  • who are recipients of the Victorian Making it Free to Study Nursing and Midwifery initiative

 

 

Please note that these positions will be placed in the May cohort at Barwon Health which will commence on the 4th of May 2026.

  • You must have registered to participate in the 2025 PMCV Allocations and Placement Service Match. We cannot consider your application if you were not registered and did not participate in the match.
  • Ensure that you have read the detailed information provided on the Barwon Health website about what to include in your application before commencing your application
  • Upload a concise CV (no more than three pages)
  • Include a short statement about your career goal including any relevant skills/attributes or values that you believe make you an ideal candidate for the role
  • Embed a passport sized photo of yourself in your CV
  • Name and direct contact details of two clinical referees from two different clinical placements
  • List current/past employment details
  • List professional development completed during undergraduate degree
  • Name and direct contact details of one most recent employment referee
  • List all clinical placements including service name, clinical area, type of placement and dates of placement in table format. An example is provided below
