About the role

Are you passionate about empowering young people and creating healthier, more connected communities? headspace Colac is seeking a Community Awareness Coordinator to drive community engagement, promote youth mental health, and strengthen connections between young people and the services they need.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in increasing awareness of headspace Colac through community partnerships, health promotion initiatives, events, and digital engagement. Working alongside young people, families, schools and community organisations, you will help ensure young people aged 12–25 have access to free, youth-friendly support across mental health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drugs, and vocational and educational services.

headspace Colac is a welcoming, inclusive 'one-stop shop' dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of young people through early intervention, collaboration and genuine youth participation. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead community engagement, health promotion activities and events that increase awareness of headspace Colac and improve access to services for young people.
  • Mentor and support the headspace Colac Youth Reference Group, fostering meaningful youth participation and advocacy.
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools, community organisations and key stakeholders while promoting headspace through traditional and social media.

 

What We Are Looking For

We're seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded professional with experience in community engagement, youth participation or health promotion. You are passionate about supporting young people, confident building relationships across diverse communities, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

You will bring:

  • Experience in community engagement, health promotion, communications or youth development.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills, with the ability to engage young people, families and community stakeholders.
